hey girl! your life sounds very exciting. love the feet picture!
jeff & i went to paris a couple of weeks ago, so i know what you mean about the french language. spanish makes sense. french is so fluid. and hardly any letters get pronounced. i know it will get better and better. someday you'll look back and wonder why it was so hard. plus i'm praying for you!
while in paris i bought a book by an irish author called "cameroon with egbert." it's about the author and her daughter and a horse (egbert) as they journey through the remote parts of cameroon. i thought of you and the possibility of visiting you, so i had to get the book. i'm busy reading three other books, so it's going to have to wait a bit. more on that later!
one of the other books i'm reading (with our life group) is "the irresistible revolution" by shane claiborne. really looking at the words & actions of Jesus and living them. looks like there's no just reading this book. more on that later, too.
hearing your daily food, market & people encounters reminds me of our time in kenya. soon enough it becomes the norm...i know you are light and love to all around you (even if you need a few minutes to yourself - don't you remember Jesus tried to get away alone, too?)
i'm so jealous of your dance lessons. can you take any pictures of that?
love & greetings from the tanis family -

Your exuberance shines through your emails even, and I love that! "The Irrisistable Revolution" is an incredible book. Very challenging and truly not a book you can read and walk away from. In fact, I just read about the "Blook Diamonds" with my children and then we went to the website of Cred Jewlers out of the UK as we learn about African History. Facinating and challenging stuff.
Dance, I'll try to get some good pictures. Maybe of a nice dip, although I'm a little stiff on those (been dropped one to many times!).
Visit me! Oh, yes, that would just be wonderful, you'd absolutely love it, and then you can return and share about all the beautiful things happening here! Wait until I've traveled out to the village a bit, starting in July, so that I will know better how to share Cameroon with you.
Lots of love to you, my dear sister! With many hugs to all, Christy
